The Basmanny Court of Moscow has seized the property of blogger and founder of the St. Petersburg magazine “Sobaka.ru” Veronika Belotserkovskaya.

As reported to TASS by the court’s press service, at the request of the investigation, the seizure was imposed on “a parking space and an apartment in Moscow, residential buildings, an apartment and a plot of land in St. Petersburg.”

• Veronika Belotserkovskaya was one of the first defendants under the new article on “fakes” about the Russian army, which appeared in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation after the start of the war. A criminal case was opened against her because of her Instagram posts. According to investigators, they contained “deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to destroy cities and civilians in Ukraine, including children, during a special military operation.” In May, the court arrested Belotserkovskaya, who lives abroad, in absentia .
• As Mediazona recalls , the courts also seized the property of some other defendants in cases of "fakes" about the Russian army. For example, journalist Alexander Nevzorov had his dacha on the shore of the Gulf of Finland seized , and Russian intelligence researcher Andrei Soldatov had his bank accounts seized.
