At the same time, the current authorities of Taiwan, as in the late 1940s, officially consider themselves to be the only legal government of all China (calling in the same way as in 1911-1949-the “Chinese Republic”).

Taiwan with a population of about 26 million people actually operates as a separate state from China, having its own constitution, army and elected authorities led by the president. So, all countries of the world were at one time raised by the issue of recognizing independence (as we are often mistakenly believed) Taiwan, but about which government - in Beijing or Taibe - to recognize the legal government of China. Taibay is recognized only by 14 small countries, each of which makes this at the cost of breaking up relations with the PRC.
