In Kherson, the “new authorities” detained the mayor of the city Igor Kolykhaev

The mayor of Kherson, Igor Kolykhaev, was detained by Russian forces on the morning of June 28, Galina Lyashevskaya, an adviser to the head of the city, said.

Kolykhaev was detained near the building where the remaining employees of the city executive committee worked. According to Lyashevskaya, fighters of the Russian Guard and, possibly, the FSB participated in the operation. “After the search, Kolykhaev was put on a bus [with the symbol] Z and taken away,” Lyashevskaya wrote on social networks. She linked the detention of the mayor with the fact that he refused to cooperate with the occupation authorities.

Kirill Stremousov, a spokesman for the Kherson region's "new authorities", who is described by Russian state media as the region's "deputy head of the military-civilian administration", confirmed that the "ex-mayor Kolykhaev" had been detained. According to Stremousov, Kolykhaev "urged to ignore the processes" and "harmed the process of denazification."
