In the mayor of this city - Igor Kolykhaev, was detained in Kherson occupied by the Russian troops. This was announced by his adviser Galina Lyashevskaya.
According to her, the employees of the Russian Guard and, possibly, the FSB, detained Kolykhaev on Tuesday morning. A search was also conducted in his office. According to Lyashevskaya, the mayor could be detained for refusing to cooperate with the occupation authorities.
The message about the mayor’s detention was also confirmed by the head of the administration of the Kherson region, Gennady Laguta. Other details are not known.
After the Russian troops occupied Kherson in early March, Kolykhaev remained in the city. For some time he continued to lead the local administration, which ensured the life of the city, but refused to cooperate with the Russian military. At the end of April, the so-called heads of the military-civil administrations of the Kherson region and Kherson were appointed Russian authorities, and the current mayor was deprived of any management levers.
Also on Tuesday it became known about the detention of the head of one of the departments of the Energodar of the Zaporizhzhya region, who is also occupied by Russian troops.
