The chairman of the Tyumen Regional Duma Sergey Korepanov died on June 28. He was 74 years old, reported in the information center of the regional government.

According to 72.ru, Sergei Korepanov was taken to the hospital from the Duma. He was taken to intensive care with heart problems at 13:00. Resuscitation measures were held for half an hour. Then the doctors recorded death.

Korepanov headed the Tyumen Regional Duma since January 1998. The speaker was a member of the United Russia faction.

  • Sergey Korepanov was born on January 6, 1948 in the city of Naryan-Margel region. In 1976, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers with a degree in Radio Engineer, candidate of technical sciences.
  • From 1973 to 1990, Sergey Korepanov worked in the Komsomol and party bodies of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
  • From 1993 to January 2002, he was a member of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation. In the same period, from 1996 to January 1998, Korepanov headed the Duma of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Then he moved to the post of chairman of the Tyumen Regional Duma, which he headed to death.
  • In May 2021, Korepanov deprived the vote of the regional deputy Alexander Lobov ("LDPR") after his words about corruption among officials of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
