The coordinating headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war of Ukraine carried out an exchange with Russia, as a result of which 144 people returned to the country. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of the country.
It is noted that "this is the largest exchange since the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion." Among the exchanged prisoners are 95 defenders of Azovstal, 43 of whom are servicemen of the Azov regiment.
“Most of the liberated Ukrainians have severe injuries: gunshot and shrapnel wounds, explosive injuries, burns, fractures, limb amputations. All of them receive proper emergency medical and psychological assistance,” the report said.
How many Russian soldiers were exchanged is not reported. The Russian side did not comment on this information.
