The Central District Court of Komsomolsk-on-Amur rejected the claim for compensation for moral damages to protest participant Evgeny Dilman, who was beaten by security forces at a rally in support of Sergei Furgal. Evgeniy’s mother Svetlana Dilman reported this to OVD-Info.
In July 2020, Evgeniy, who was not yet eighteen years old at the time, participated with his mother in a rally in support of the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal. During the protest, the police knocked the young man to the ground and beat him using chokeholds. After being taken to the police station, Evgeniy, who suffers from bronchial asthma, had to call an ambulance, and marks from the chokeholds remained on his neck for several days after the incident.
In March 2021, the city's Central District Court rejected Dilman's claim for unlawful use of physical force and special equipment against a minor - despite the video recording of the incident.
