A criminal case was opened against Hieromonk Nikandr (Evgeny Pinchuk) from Verkhoturye, Sverdlovsk region under the article on repeated discrediting of the Russian armed forces (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). About this Baza.

ROCOR (A) reports that the Investigative Committee opened a case because of a post on VKontakte that Pinchuk published on March 30. According to investigators, in this post the priest allowed himself to call the actions of the Russian military aggressive.

The hieromonk has already deleted the post and page on the social network.

A criminal case under Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code can be initiated if a person already has at least one decision that has entered into force under a similar article of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code) within a year.
