The Severodvinsk City Court sentenced a 20-year-old local resident to 9 months of restriction of freedom on charges of incitement to mass riots and participation in them (Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
The case became known in April. The reason for his arousal was comments posted on January 23, 2021. On that day, rallies were held in different regions of Russia in support of Alexei Navalny.
According to investigators, the comments posted by an unnamed 20-year-old man contained “calls for mass unrest, accompanied by violence, pogroms, destruction of property, and armed resistance to government officials.”
