A Muscovite who protested on a tree with a crossbow complained about the conditions in a mental hospital

Accused in the case of hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code), environmental activist Olga Kuzmina, who was forcibly hospitalized in a mental hospital, said that she could not sleep or eat for three days. Her mother Lyudmila Kuzmina reported this to OVD-Info.

At the hospital, the activist was not provided with suitable bedding. In addition, she cannot eat hospital food due to a strict diet - the girl has stage 4 lymphedema, and violating the diet can lead to complications. Despite the fact that doctors at the mental hospital were given certificates confirming Kuzmina’s illness, they are not providing her with the food she is allowed to eat.

On July 1, Olga Kuzmina was forcibly hospitalized at the Moscow Regional Psychiatric Hospital named after V.I. Yakovenko for examination. At that time, the decision on the examination made by the court had not yet entered into force. In addition, according to the activist’s mother, Kuzmina wrote an informed refusal of medical intervention due to her health condition.

A criminal case was opened against the environmental activist due to a protest against construction as part of the renovation on Yantarnaya Street, 15. On August 9, 2021, Kuzmina climbed a tree and tied herself to it, taking with her a crossbow that was unsuitable for shooting. Since August 17, 2021, the woman has been under house arrest.
