Lawyer: Pre-trial detention center doctors ignore requests for help from the arrested defendant in the case of anti-war price tags

Lawyer Yana Nepovinnova said that the doctors of SIZO No. 5 in St. Petersburg continue to ignore requests for help from Sasha Skochilenko, a defendant in the case of anti-war price tags, accused of spreading “fakes” about the Russian army (clause “e” part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The defender published her text on the Telegraph blog platform.

According to the lawyer, her client “still experiences severe pain in the heart area, severe arrhythmia at night, so she sleeps poorly, as well as pain in the lower abdomen.”

“Despite her [Skochilenko] constant appeals, the doctors of SIZO-5, as well as the psychiatric hospital No. 6, where she underwent a forensic psychiatric examination, ignore requests to help her and conduct the necessary examinations,” Nepovinnova reports.

Doctors, as the defender writes, explain their refusals to help by the fact that they do not have the necessary equipment or specialists. “Despite the constant complaints, in the conclusions the doctors write that Sasha does not express any complaints and there is no urgent need for her hospitalization. This is not so: Sasha is really very ill now, but neither the court nor the doctors listened to this, ”the defender reports.

Nepovinnova also conveyed Skochilenko's story about an incident that happened to her during her stay in a psychiatric hospital - on June 8, the girl was sent there for examination. Upon admission, the defendant in the case was forced to wash and change into hospital gowns in front of male employees.

“They [hospital staff] lined up and watched Sasha wash and change. They did not react to the comments when Sasha asked them to introduce themselves, they refused, saying that they would not give their names for security reasons, ”the lawyer writes.

According to Skochilenko, Nepovinnova noted that the men ignored, among other things, the remark of a hospital employee, saying that “they are persons without a gender, you can change clothes in front of them.”

The defender also reported that on June 28, while being transferred from the hospital back to the pre-trial detention center, the arrested girl was kept in the basement without food and water for at least five hours.

The lawyer drew attention to the likelihood that the censors of the pre-trial detention center and the colony do not let through letters mentioning Skochilenko, but stressed that this information has not yet been confirmed. “The censor told Sasha that she is now like in Harry Potter -“ Whose-Name-Must-Not-Be-Named, ”added Nepovinnova.

• Skochilenko was taken into custody in April. The investigation believes that the girl replaced the price tags in the Perekrestok store with leaflets with information about the shelling of the Mariupol Drama Theater and the death of civilians. The investigator calls the disseminated information false, and the action itself - committed due to political hostility. The artist acknowledged the distribution of leaflets, but does not consider herself guilty and denies that she spread false information.
