Petersburg: The court upheld the verdict to the opposition policy to Reznik

The City Court of St. Petersburg left the decision in the case of the purchase of drugs in relation to the opposition politician Maxim Reznik. This was reported in the United press service of the city courts.

The defense asked to cancel the sentence and justify the policy. The prosecutor insisted that the verdict is legal and justified. The court refused to satisfy the appeal.

At the end of April, the Oktyabrsky District Court found Reznik guilty of the acquisition of drugs and appointed him five months of a colony-settlement. Politics was credited with the maintenance time under house arrest and released in the courtroom.

The prosecutor requested the year of the colony-settlement. According to investigators, Reznik acquired from his relative - Ivan Dorofeev - 18 grams of marijuana for personal use.

• A criminal case against Reznik was opened in June 2021. In his apartment, in the country and in the apartment of his mother, a politician was searched. Due to the persecution, he could not participate in the election of deputies of the Legislative of St. Petersburg. The politician was forced to terminate the election campaign due to pressure: he and his team twice received a rejection of the investigator to visit a notary. Later, the court recovered 40 thousand rubles from the Investigative Committee for the lack of Reznik’s disadvantage.
• Ivan Dorofeev, from whom the politician allegedly acquired drugs, was sentenced in early February to 1 year 9 months in prison in the case of illegal storage of narcotic drugs. The court counted to Dorofeev the time spent in the pre-trial detention center, and freed from custody. He said that during the investigation of the case, the investigators pressed him to testify against Reznik.
