At the Moskvich plant they showed an “approximate model range” of future cars. They were recognized as cars of the Chinese brand JAC

At the presentation of new models of the Moskvich automobile plant, which took place on July 6, not the real, but only the possible appearance of future cars was shown. This was reported to TASS in the press service of Kamaz, which is helping to resume the production of Moskvich cars.

“We do not confirm that the presented presentation shows the real future appearance of the car. It was a possible example of what cars might look like," the Kamaz press service said.

At the presentation of the Moskvich plant, stands with photographs of the “approximate model range” of new products were shown. The journalists recognized the cars of the Chinese manufacturer JAC in the four presented car models. The Russian distributor JAC refused to comment on Kommersant.

• After the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Russia, the French automaker Renault transferred its Russian assets - 67.69% of the shares of the AvtoVAZ concern and the Moscow Automobile Plant - to the state for free.
• The Moscow authorities returned the name Moskvich to the automobile plant and announced plans to produce cars of the same brand there with the participation of Kamaz.
• In May, Vedomosti sources reported that Kamaz was localizing the production of Chinese cars at the Moskvich plant. To do this, Kamaz began negotiations with its partner, the Chinese automaker JAC, and the Moscow authorities began negotiations with another Chinese car manufacturer, the newspaper wrote.
• In July, Kamaz announced that they plan to produce five models, four crossovers and one sedan under the Moskvich brand. By the end of 2022, the plant plans to produce about 600 cars, in 2023 - at least 50 thousand cars, in 2024 - 100 thousand.
