The municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov was sentenced to 7 years in a colony in the case of Fakes about the Russian army

The Meshchansky court of Moscow sentenced the municipal deputy of the Krasnoselsky district Alexei Gorinov to the 7 years of the colony of general regime . He is accused of distributing “fakes” about the Russian army by a group of persons using his official position and based on hatred or enmity (paragraphs “A”, “B” and “D” of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The maximum punishment under the article is 10 years of colony.

The investigation accused Gorinov of the fact that during a meeting of the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky District of Moscow, he called the “special operation” “war”, spoke about the death of Ukrainian children, called Russia a “fascist state” and stated that Russia wants to seize Ukraine. All this was during the discussion of the leisure work plan ⁠ on the second quarter of 2022 - Alexei Gorinov proposed to accept this plan against the background of the “special operation”.

During the court, the state prosecution asked to close the process, because “too many citizens and journalists come to meetings,” said Ilya Yashin, who was present at the first meetings. The judge partially satisfied the petition of the prosecutor: the interrogation of some of the witnesses of the prosecution was held closed.

Another person involved in this case is Elena Kotenochkin , the head of the Krasnoselsky municipal district of Moscow. Initially, the criminal case of “fakes” was demanded precisely against her - the statements were written by State Duma deputy Alexander Hinshtein and deputy, member of the New People faction Oleg Leonov.

After the statements of the State Duma deputies, Kotenochkin left Russia. Alexei Gorinov did not leave, and he was arrested on April 27, accusing him of "publicly spreading knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation."

In court, Gorinov said *:

“Everything expressed by me on March 15, 2022 at a meeting of the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky city of Moscow is my personal opinion and conviction, I did not enter into any conspiracy with Kotenochkina.”

“I am convinced of this, the war is the fastest remedy. When the line is erased between good and evil. This is always death, I will not reject it and reject it. Our past taught me this. And, probably, not only me.

In an interview with Republic, Elena Kotenochkina said that her colleague deputy Gorinov did not appear in the statements of Khinshtein and Leonov, and suggested that it was on him that it would “run” paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code:

“I just did not think that it would affect Alexei Gorinov. Khinshtein wrote a statement only on me, he did not mention Gorinov. State Duma deputy Leonov also wrote a statement only to me. By the way, we once cooperated with the deputy Leonov on one of our problems in the Krasnoselsky district. He sent me congratulatory telegrams - from the eighth of March, Happy New Year ... And here it is. True, he claims that he did not want me to be brought to criminal liability. But what does it change? <...>

As I said, he [Gorinov - approx. Republic] did not appear in statements. I told him that perhaps it was worth leaving. But he either did not attach any importance to this, or decided that he would fully defend his position. Of course, we could not imagine that the repressions would be of such scale. Already more than 60 people are accused under this article of the Criminal Code. Probably, on Gorinov, one of the parts of this article will be run on - the one that concerns the use of the official position. ”
