The QR codes system can be extended to all vaccinations that are made from birth, and not just to vaccination from coronavirus. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health, who oversees the topic of digitalization of medicine, Pavel Pugachev:
“We already have a system that can be scaled and used for all infectious diseases and vaccination programs. It makes no sense to completely abandon QR codes. ”
“This service has firmly entered our lives in all areas, from authorization on social networks to paying bills in banks. We are sincerely convinced that only convenient services can become massive and earn the trust of citizens. Our task is to translate as many medical securities as possible to the format of electronic documents with the QR code to always have them at hand at “public services” and use where it is necessary, ”he added .
The deputy minister noted that many citizens do not remember what vaccinations they put throughout their lives-because of this, they have to take expensive tests for antibodies. The collected data on vaccination of more than 80 million Russians may be the first step towards the creation of the patient’s digital medical profile, the Deputy Minister of Health said. Pugachev said that this system will assess the level of collective immunity and predict the risks of the spread of infections for a particular region.
The introduction of QR codes and digital passes as an anticoronavirus measurebegan in different regions of Russia in the spring of 2020. All this was constantly accompanied by scandals associated with leaks of patients of patients, malfunctions in the operation of the tracking system. In addition, human rights activistswarned that the pandemic would be held, but it is unlikely that the authorities will abolish surveillance after that.
In the second half of 2021, State Duma deputies decided to distribute the throughput system using transport codes, shops, restaurants and public places, but encountered a radical rejection of this measure from citizens that caused a protest throughout the country. In January, the current bill on QR codes in public places was withdrawn from consideration.
Recall that in early July, the report of RoskomSvoboda experts was published on how technological restrictions related to anticoronavirus measures operated in two years and how they influenced the rights and freedoms of citizens. You can fully familiarize yourself with the report here .
