The prosecution asked to sentence the founder of the “Police Ombudsman” Vladimir Vorontsov to six years in prison

The state prosecutor asked Vladimir Vorontsov, the founder of the Police Ombudsman project, to be sentenced to six years in prison. The prosecution also believes that Vorontsov should be stripped of the rank of police major and banned from administering websites for 10 years. Initially, Vorontsov was charged with 14 episodes in the criminal case, but only five of them were included in the final charge: three episodes of illegal production and trafficking of pornographic materials, as well as one episode of extortion on a large scale and insulting a government official, Kommersant . reports

Vorontsov himself pleaded not guilty to any of the counts and links the criminal prosecution to his activities in upholding the rights of ordinary policemen.
