Russian journalists reported shelling of Nova Kakhovka during Sergey Kiriyenko's visit. He was not injured

The Ukrainian army shelled the city of Nova Kakhovka in the occupied Kherson region when the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, was there. Russian journalist Semyon Pegov wrote about this in his Telegram channel, citing sources in the Kherson region. Mash also reported about this.

According to Pegov, Kiriyenko visited the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and then met with representatives of the Russian regions that had taken patronage over the districts of the Kherson region. When the meeting ended and its participants began to leave, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the hydroelectric power station, presumably with three missiles.

"Meeting participants took refuge in basements. No one among the participants of the events was hurt," Pegov wrote.

According to Mash, as a result of the airstrike on the hydroelectric power station, two servicemen were killed and another one was missing.

A RIA Novosti source from among those accompanying Kiriyenko also stated that the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was shelled after the departure of the first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration. "We are safe, everything is fine. <…> The missiles hit right on the site where our [Kiriyenko's delegation's] cars were parked. Two people from the hydroelectric power station's security were killed," he said.

• On July 12, Baza and the Vladikavkaz publication Nog Iryston reported that the motorcade of the head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo, was ambushed by a sabotage and reconnaissance group during the official's visit to Ukraine. Menyailo allegedly received a slight concussion. He himself stated that he was not injured.
