The Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk fined ex-State Duma deputy Irina Chirkova 30,000 rubles under the article on the spread of fakes (part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of the post that United Russia was to blame for the shortage of sugar in the region. This is reported by the publication 29.RU.
Chirkova said that the case against her was opened because of a statement by Ivan Vorontsov, a member of the United Russia party. She also said that she intends to appeal the court’s decision: “[I was fined] for my post on social networks in March, where [it was said] that United Russia was sending humanitarian aid to the LPR and DPR, including granulated sugar. They wrote a statement, and without me the court fined me 30 thousand rubles. The case is now on appeal."
