The prosecutor requested 14 years in a colony for the ex-deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg

The prosecutor requested 14 years in a maximum security colony for the former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Roman Koval. He is accused of receiving a major bribe. This was reported in the United press service of the city courts.

In the debate, the prosecutor also asked to appoint a fine of 88 million rubles to the accused and deprive him of the right to occupy positions in the public service for a period of 7 years.

Koval’s novel was detained in July 2020. According to investigators, he received from the entrepreneur personally and with the mediation of his assistant Andrei Grishin a bribe in the form of money and property (Audi Q7 car) for a total of more than 16 million rubles. For the remuneration, the deputy had to amend the law on the city budget and help to allocate money to "certain state budgetary institutions." At the end of 2020, the deputy gave a confession and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

Assistant Koval - Andrei Grishin - was found guilty of mediation, fined 1.5 million rubles and forbidden to occupy positions in the public service within three years.
