The European Union imposed sanctions against Sobyanin, Bezrukov, Mashkov and the leader of the Night Wolves

The European Union has officially announced new restrictions against Russia because of the war in Ukraine. The sanctions lists included 57 Russians and structures from the Russian Federation, according to the official journal of the EU.

In particular, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov, head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, actors Vladimir Mashkov and Sergey Bezrukov, leader of the Night Wolves motorcycle club Alexander Zaldostanov (Surgeon), Russkiy Mir Foundation , Yunarmiya movement and Sberbank.

As previously reported in the EU Council, the new restrictions include a ban on transactions with Russian gold and an expansion of the list of goods that can be used by Russia in the military and technological fields.

At the same time, the European Union decided to withdraw from sanctions transactions with state-owned companies related to Russian agricultural products (sale of wheat and fertilizers) and oil transportation to third countries. This decision is explained by ensuring food and energy security in the world.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the EU sanctions "illegitimate" and "disastrous" for the global economy and security.

• The previous, sixth, package of EU sanctions was presented in early June. It includes the phasing out of Russian oil by the European Union.
