The court dismissed the case under the “rally” article against the mufti of Ingushetia due to the expiration of the statute of limitations

The Magassky District Court terminated the administrative case under the "rally" article (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against the Mufti of Ingushetia, Isa Khamkhoev, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. This is reported by the publication "Kavkaz.Realii".

Khamkhoev was charged with organizing a public event because of a meeting of the clergy, which discussed the problem of increased mortality in traffic accidents in Ingushetia.

Lawyer Magomed Ozdoev told Kavkaz.Realiyam: “The Muftiate of Ingushetia holds working meetings as usual. For almost each of them, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB department compile materials about allegedly holding a public event that was not coordinated with the authorities. At the same time, the meetings are held in a closed area, they are attended by representatives of the clergy who discuss working issues.”

• This is not the first case against Isa Khamkhoev. In March, the court canceled the fine under the "rally" article, assigned to him for holding the election of a mufti without notifying the authorities. In 2021, he was fined under the same article for meeting with imams, and also three times under the article on illegal missionary activity (part 4 of article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), in particular, because of preaching in a mosque .
