Some of them were officially in the service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, others were in the conflict zone as volunteers.

In addition, Eslin began to interview Russian journalists and bloggers, in which he said that he sympathized with Russia and allegedly took the oath of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, succumbing to the persuasion of the English military.

And recently, a video was posted on the network in which Eslin performs the anthem of Russia.

Friend and compatriot Eslin, 48-year-old Sean Pinner, who worked in his homeland in the field of waste disposal, was also among the defenders of Mariupol and also was captured. Lawyers, who often called their clients “mercenaries” were granted the accused. Despite the fact that the Criminal Code of the “DPR” says that “a person who acts in order to obtain material reward and is not a citizen of the state participating in the armed conflict or military operations, which does not constantly live on its territory” is recognized as a mercenary. All three accused at the time of the start of the war not only lived in Ukraine for a long time, but also entered into official contracts for the service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Two of them had Ukrainian citizenship, and they certainly did not plan to seize or hold power in the “DPR”.

Deficiency of executioners

“It is not clear how they plan to execute the sentences purely technically,” said Novaya Gazeta. The Russian Foreign Ministry does not consider prisoners of war sentenced to shoot the British.
