The title of the new book of Martin Ford “ The Power of the Robots. How to prepare for the inevitable ”(enters the Alpina Non-Fixing publishing house) refers to the author’s previous work on labor robotization (“ Robots advance ”)-in 2015 awarded the prestigious Financial Times & McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award. This time, Ford focuses on the influence of artificial intelligence and the far -reaching consequences of its application: “I have visited more than 30 countries and had the opportunity to visit research laboratories and participate in the debates about the prospects of the unfolding revolution of artificial intelligence with technical experts, economists, enterprises, investors and politicians, as well as non -purposeful people who see the changes And they begin to worry about them. ” It is easy to guess what in this regard is the most concern in the United States, in the author’s homeland: China. In the chosen chapter, Ford describes the technological successes of the PRC as a global zone of vulnerability of Americans and, in general, the Western world. “In China,” the author notes, “tracking systems using persons and other AI technologies are used to enormous increase in power and the influence of authoritarian rulers and destroy the inviolability of private life.” Question: Are the United States ready to withstand the trends gaining strength?
