Citizens of "unfriendly" countries want to prohibit adoption in Russia

A bill was introduced to the State Duma, which prohibits citizens from the so -called "unfriendly countries" of the adoption of children from Russia. Since 2013, Russian children have already been forbidden to adopt the Americans.

The deputies explained the need for the new "law of Dima Yakovlev" by preserving and the development of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. In their opinion, the adoption of Russian orphans by citizens of the "unfriendly" states of the contradictions of the national interests of Russia.

"For many years, the" collective West "replaces the concepts of good and evil, destroys traditional family foundations and moral values." • One of the authors of the bill is the State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky. In 2018, journalists Ekaterina Kotrikadze, Daria Zhuk and Farid Rustamova accused him of harassment. The deputy denied all the accusations, and the ethics commission did not find violations in his actions.
• In 2013, the "Law of Dima Yakovlev" entered into force, which prohibited the adoption of children from Russia to all US citizens. He received his unofficial name in honor of the adopted child from Russia who died in the United States. Later, the law was expanded by amendments not related to adoption. The law introduced restrictions on unwanted organizations and the ban on the activities of political NPOs funded from the United States in Russia.
