The Ministry of Justice declared incompetent an “expert” who appeared in many political cases

The Ministry of Justice declared incompetent specialist Danila Mikheev, who conducted linguistic examinations in many politically motivated criminal and administrative cases. This is reported by Mediazona with reference to human rights activist Pavel Chikov .

Officials expressed their opinion in response to lawyers' requests, twice noting Mikheev's lack of competencies necessary to conduct a linguistic examination. Mikheev himself is a psychologist-conflictologist, he does not have a higher philological education. In addition, in order to conduct examinations, he would need to pass certification in the specialty “Research of products of speech activity”.

At the same time, he repeatedly conducted linguistic examinations in various criminal and administrative cases, including cases against blogger Sergei Komandirov , Pussy Riot members Lucy Stein and Maria Alyokhina , as well as in the case of blocking the OVD-Info website.

Despite the fact that the Ministry of Justice officials acknowledged Mikheev's incompetence, there is no information in the officials' responses about whether the cases in which he acted as an expert will be reviewed.
