Sakhalin: a suburban train got off the rails

A suburban train, following the Tomari -Kholmsk route, came off the rails on Sakhalin. The trains following this route have been canceled today, the press service of the Far Eastern Railway said .

The accident occurred in a single -track unelectrified section of Ilyinsk -Yuzhny -Kholmsk at 6 a.m. local time. There are no victims.

According to preliminary data, the reason was washing the path due to the loss of heavy rainfall. To eliminate the consequences of the gathering, a recovery train was sent from the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk station.

Today, August 5, six trains have been canceled on this section of the road. In addition, due to the threat of laundering, traffic was suspended on a single-track non-electrified section of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk-Poronaysk. The movement of the suburban train of Poronaysk-Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was stopped.
