A picketer with a poster “Freedom for Ilya Yashin!” was detained at the Moscow City Court.

Picketer Aleksey Ushakov was detained near the Moscow City Court building, picketing with a poster in support of politician Ilya Yashin. Ushakov is being taken to the Preobrazhenskoye police station.

Today, the Moscow City Court will consider an appeal against Yashin's placement in custody. He has been in a pre-trial detention center since July 13 in the case of “fake news” about the army (paragraph “e” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). He faces up to 10 years in prison.
