Latvia again began to receive gas from Russia. At the end of July, Gazprom stopped supplies due to “violation of gas selection conditions”

Latvia has resumed imports of Russian gas. RBC writes about this with reference to information from the website of the Latvian operator for the transportation and storage of natural gas Conexus Baltic Grid.

Gas is supplied to Latvia via the Valdai-Pskov-Riga gas pipeline through the Luhamaa gas metering station in Estonia.

Gas supplies from Russia to Latvia resumed on August 5, TASS reports , citing data from the European Network of Gas Transportation System Operators.

• On July 29, Latvia announced the resumption of purchases of Russian gas interrupted in the spring. At the same time, the operator Latvijas gaze emphasized that the fuel is not bought directly from Gazprom, but through intermediaries, and that the payment for it is in euros, and not in Russian rubles.
• On July 30, Gazprom stopped deliveries to Latvia due to "violation of the conditions for gas withdrawal." Gazprom did not specify what kind of violations in question.
• The Latvian authorities intend to completely abandon natural gas from Russia from 2023.
