The war that cannot be stopped, which cannot be won and which cannot be completed at least with a truce, has two outcomes. The first is the annihilation of one of the warring parties, that is, one of the political regimes, an aggressor or victim. The second is the asymmetry of military force. That is, the use of nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, the war of the 21st century will most likely end in such a nuclear way. Such a war can be Russian-Ukrainian.
The Russian armed forces were in the south and east of Ukraine at an impasse, a quick exit from which does not exist. There is no strength for the offensive. The transition to defense means the transfer of initiative to Ukraine.
In Moscow they know this. The formation of “volunteer” battalions is being formed for the so -called second army corps of the LPR folk police. Reservists are recruited in them, including from among prisoners, for them from the northwestern and eastern borders of Russia they remove and transfer equipment. But there is no time for a decisive victory at least within the borders of the DPR. For another week to form, then two weeks for transfer, then entry into battle, but by September 11, it was a deadline for holding “referenda about reuniting with Russia” in the occupied regions of Ukraine, it seems that it will not work.
