Dmitry Vrubel died

Artist Dmitry Vrubel died on August 14 in Berlin at the age of 62. His death was reported by journalist Ksenia Larina and literary critic Gleb Morev .

For the past two months, the artist was sick of Covid. At the end of June he was hospitalized. Doctors installed the ventricular apparatus of auxiliary circulation, and also introduced it into an artificial one. The wife of the artist Victoria Timofeeva said on August 9 that Vrubel has been in critical condition for four weeks. According to her, he was connected to various life devices, including the IVL apparatus.

• Dmitry Vrubel was born in Moscow in 1960. At the age of 15, he created his painting “Pilate Court”. In 1979 he entered the Moscow State Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Art and Grace. At different times, he studied with artists Mikhail Epstein, Andrei Panchenko and Vladimir Ovchinnikov. Since 1990, he lived in Berlin and Moscow.
• The most famous work of Dmitry Vrubel is graffiti “Lord, help me survive in the midst of this mortal love”, or “fraternal kiss”, created in 1990 on a fragment of the Berlin Wall. On it, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPSU Leonid Brezhnev kisses the head of the GDR Erich Honecker. In 2009, graffiti was washed off from a fragment of the Berlin wall, after which Vrubel recreated his work.
