A doctor from Sochi was fined three million rubles for “fakes” about the army

The Central District Court of Sochi issued a verdict in the case of "fakes" about the army (part 2 of article 207.3). The infectious disease doctor, whose name is not called, was fined three million. The prosecution requested a sentence of six years in prison for him.

The case was opened because of the doctor's comments on Facebook about the losses of the Russian army and the formation of "detachments" of Chechen military personnel.

On August 16, human rights activist Pavel Chikov reported that 85 criminal cases had been initiated in Russia under the article on “fake news”. The article appeared after the start of the war in Ukraine.
