In addition, it is reported that Russian troops were stationed in the Sokol corps at the beginning of the war. This information was confirmed to Kholod by a resident of Novaya Kakhovka.

“There is a factory management building there, where offices were located before the war - behind it there was a pool where military buoys were tested. Somewhere in early March, the Russians settled in office space, approximately in that part. And later they occupied the production area of ​​the plant - workshops, hangars, ”an eyewitness to the events told Kholod, who asked not to mention his name.

Explosions were also reported near the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The hydroelectric power plant, like the whole of Novaya Kakhovka, has been under the control of Russian troops since the end of February.

The former Sokol plant in Novaya Kakhovka was a closed defense enterprise during the Soviet years. There, ultra-modern radio-hydroacoustic instruments and hydroacoustic stations were manufactured. The total area of ​​the plant's buildings is 120,000 square meters.
