170 prisoners from a colony near Tula were sent to war - Mediazona

A prisoner from IK-4 in Plavsk (Tula region) told Mediazona that 170 volunteers recruited for service in Ukraine were taken away from the colony the night before. They can be taken to the Rostov region. The interlocutor of the publication said that volunteers were also taken from other Tula colonies - their number is unknown to him.

He added that before sending everyone "they were obliged to write a pardon in the name of the president." The prisoner who told about this suggests that “in fact, not convicts, but free people will go to war.” It is not yet clear how, from a legal point of view, the sending of prisoners to war is formalized, given that many of them had years of imprisonment left. Presidential clemency decrees mentioning such a number of prisoners have not been published anywhere.

Earlier it became known about the funeral of one of the prisoners, who was recruited in Karelia. 44-year-old Yevgeny Eremenko was supposed to serve another 8 years, but he was sent to Ukraine. He died on July 24 in the Ukrainian Bakhmut (Donetsk region). A few days later, the mother was compensated for the cost of the funeral - they paid 145 thousand rubles.
