A criminal case was opened against the musician for “discrediting” the army for the banner “Yakut punk against war”

The police opened a case of “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) against the 30-year-old vocalist of the punk band Crispy Newspaper Aikhal Ammosov (Igor Ivanov), who hung a banner with the inscription This was reported by the Free Yakutia Foundation.

The security forces reported on the initiation of a criminal case on August 23, but then it was not known who was accused.

Ammosov was fined three times in administrative cases for “discrediting” the army because of his anti-war actions. Now the musician is under recognizance not to leave the place.

The head of the human rights organization Agora, Pavel Chikov , wrote that in Russia there are more than three thousand people who face a criminal charge for “discrediting” the army. Such a case can be opened after two administrative violations within a year.
