Swedish manufacturer of telecom equipment Ericsson is preparing to close its office in Russia before the end of the year. According to Kommersant's sources in the telecommunications market, on August 22, the head office of Ericsson notified the Russian division of these plans. The management plans to cut all employees, including those leading the technical support of equipment on the networks of telecom operators.
Ericsson has officially confirmed that the company will complete work in Russia in the coming months "as it fulfills its obligations to customers." At the same time, employees were promised “financial and social” support.
An unnamed top manager of a major equipment manufacturer and a source in one of the telecom operators at the same time admitted that Ericsson would be able to allocate a support service to the new company, where Russian top managers could become founders.
On the eve of Dell Technologies, the largest supplier of servers to Russia, completely stopped working in the country. Operations in the Russian market IT-corporation has stopped in mid-August, all offices in the country were closed. Several hundred people worked for the company - in the commercial office in Moscow and in the development office in St. Petersburg.
