A 64-year-old resident of Yevpatoria was fined 30 thousand rubles because of a conversation with a blogger about the war; Crimean apologized on camera

The Yevpatoria City Court fined 64-year-old local resident Sergei Reshetnik 30 thousand rubles for talking about the war in a video chat. This was reported on the website of the Crimean department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Judge Irina Zakharova found Reshetnik guilty in an administrative case for “discrediting” the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). The police discovered the offense together with employees of the regional FSB department, after which the Crimean was taken to the department, where a report was drawn up against him.

The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs attached a video of Reshetnik’s apology to the press release. He says that in early August, in a conversation with a blogger, “in a fit of anger he showed himself unworthy, insulting the armed forces of the Russian Federation.”

“I regret this, I repent, this will never happen again,” adds a resident of Yevpatoria.

In recordings published in local public pages on VKontakte, a man called Reshetnik talks with the author of the YouTube channel “Dmiry (not) Donskoy.” He tells the blogger that he was “born in Donbass” and “has been living in the city of Irpen near Kiev since 2015.”

“Now everyone has one topic - war. Is it possible to talk about butterflies or the weather when a fascist power has attacked a sovereign state and is killing children, old people and pregnant women?” he says. The blogger answers his interlocutor that “he doesn’t like that Ukraine was an independent state,” after which the man calls him a “fascist” and “neo-Nazi scum.”
