Novosibirsk deputies asked to bring their colleague Sergei Boyko to criminal responsibility for calls for rallies and “discrediting” the army

Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region and the Council of Deputies of Novosibirsk asked the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, to check the YouTube channel of the independent city deputy Sergei Boyko, who left Russia, and bring him to criminal responsibility. A copy of the appeal was at the disposal of the publication “Continent of Siberia”.

The deputies believe that their colleague is spreading “fake” information, encouraging people to participate in rallies, and also publicly calling for “committing extremist activities and obstructing the implementation of a special military operation.” In addition, parliamentarians consider Boyko’s videos “illegal, illegal, aimed at discrediting” the army. The appeal was signed by 24 people.

“We consider it extremely important to take measures to bring Sergei Boyko to criminal responsibility, <…> since his actions can actually be regarded as an attempt to harm the security of the Russian state and have signs of high public danger, especially considering the fact that he has been is a person representing the authorities,” the statement says.

In a comment to the Sirena telegram channel, which was created by Navalny’s associates, Boyko said that the deprivation of his mandate is beneficial to State Duma deputy from United Russia Dmitry Savelyev.

“The idea of carrying out a criminal trial in absentia and depriving me of my mandate is beneficial to the State Duma deputy, the largest city developer Savelyev. And it is not surprising that most of those who wrote the denunciation are people who are directly connected with him and receive a salary from him,” he noted.

In May, the apartments of Sergei Boyko’s brother and mother-in-law, as well as his assistant Elena Noskovets, were searched in connection with the case of an “extremist community,” which was opened due to the work of Alexei Navalny’s FBK.
