Permanent Representative of Russia to the EU: the story of the purchase of weapons from the DPRK was invented by Western media

Reports that Russia is buying weapons from the DPRK are not true. This was stated by Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov, TASS reports.

“I definitely would not like to speculate about this North Korean story that was made up by the Western media,” Chizhov said in an interview with CNN, answering a related question.

• The New York Times and CNN reported September 5, citing intelligence data, that Russia was buying millions of artillery shells and short-to-medium-range missiles from North Korea.
• The American media noted that the supply of North Korean weapons could be a sign of the depletion of Russia's own stocks of weapons.
