Criminal case because of painted eyes on sculpture

The prosecutor's office of the Central District of St. Petersburg announced an initiated criminal case from behind the eyes, which on September 5, a marker of the sculpture of Petronia in the Summer Garden painted on September 5. This is written in the press service of the department.

The case was opened under an article on damage to cultural heritage. The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment up to three years. The prosecutor's office did not report the presence of the accused in the case.

According to the agency, the restoration of the statue cost 16.5 thousand rubles. The restorers themselves mentioned that in order to remove the drawing with a marker from marble, sculpture applied cotton compresses with a special tool. According to them, to remove the marker from marble, it will take several days.

Earlier, the employees of the Summer Garden found on one of the sculptures drawn pupils, the Gardens of the Russian Museum in VKontakte reported in the group of “Gardens of the Russian Museum”. The injured sculpture is called "Petronius Prima, the wife of Emperor Vitelly."
