EC recommends not to issue multiple visas to the Russians

On Friday, September 9, the European Commission recommended not to issue multiple visas to the Russians with a long term. In addition, the EU countries should increase the deadline for issuing to citizens of Russia to maximum 45 days for more thorough checks, the document published tonight said .

EC also recommends that the European Union “carefully look closely” at the Russians and “in the event of a threat of security” refuse to issue visas or cancel the current ones.

Consulates can now request additional documents to "ensure a high level of verification, in particular, in cases of possible threats to public order, public order and international relations."

Earlier on September 9, the European Union Council made the final decision to suspend the agreement on the simplification of the visa regime with Russia. Prior to this, it became known that Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland from September 19 will close the entrance for most Russians.
