St. Petersburg deputies who called for accusing Putin of treason drew up protocols on “discrediting” the army

Seven deputies of the Smolninskoye municipality of St. Petersburg were summoned to the police to draw up reports on “discrediting” the army, one of the municipal deputies, Dmitry Palyuga, told Mediazona. According to law enforcement agencies, on September 7 at around 19:00 they committed “actions aimed at discrediting the current government.”

Updated at 15:38: Administrative cases were opened against five deputies <a href="https://t.me/RepublicMag/16039" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank"></a>, two were released without protocols, Republic reports.

That evening, Palyuga reported that Smolninsky deputies had approached the State Duma with a proposal to remove President Vladimir Putin from office in connection with “high treason.” In their opinion, the armed conflict in Ukraine leads to the death of young able-bodied citizens, the Russian economy suffers, NATO expands to the east, and instead of demilitarizing Ukraine, the opposite effect is achieved.
