The National Scientific Fund of the United States published photos of the chromosphere and photospheres of the star created using the ground solar telescope named after Daniel Inou (Dkist). Scientists reported that these are the most detailed pictures of the Sun in history.
The telescope captured the star of the star with a length of 82.5 thousand kilometers. In the pictures you can distinguish elements, the size of which is only 18 kilometers.
Dark lines in the picture of chromosphere are power lines of the magnetic field. They are visible due to the particles of the plasma that move along them, scientists noted.
In the photo of the photosphere you can see granules - formations caused by plasma convection. In them, hot plasma rises up the center of the column, and then spreads along the outer circle of the column and falls into the depths. The diameter of the average granule is 1,500 kilometers, and their total amount on the surface of the Sun is about four million.
