Mikhailichenko about the results of the election

Political scientist Dmitry Mikhailichenko writes in his telegram channel:

“ The results of the elections of governors in 14 regions of the country actualize the discussion about the advisability of such elections. The final turnout of 30–40 % does not allow to evaluate the "Turkmenistan" (80–85 %) results as a certificate of consolidation of society and the authorities and a high level of support for governors. <...>

Most voters did not come to these elections, and this is a significant factor in public consciousness. Obviously, the regional administrations (with the exception of the regions that are attributed to electoral sultanates) worked for a low turnout. Interest in the elections purposefully did not increase anywhere. <...>

The discourse on falsifications in these elections turned out to be disqualified: the non -playing opposition and the institution of real observers were pushed back due to various reasons, and dissidents outside the country cannot present facts indicating real violations. No one talks about foreign observers in the elections.

The elections also showed that political technological tools in the current conditions have a reducing value: the creative is less and less, and not expensive political technologists, but clerks from municipalities, can work on mechanistic mobilization of state employees.

Until the next elections, another year, and this, taking into account the current realities, is a lot, but closed discussions about the cancellation of elections among curators of domestic policy will necessarily. ”
