In Sochi, the police detained about five participants in a spontaneous action to save dogs. They have already been released from the police department, writes . the "Caucasian Knot"
On the evening of September 14, animal rights activists gathered near the central market, where they noticed a car with about 40 dogs in it.
“According to the driver of the van, he had dogs in the back since morning. The temperature in the van was over 30 degrees. The dogs had neither food nor water. There were no cells. Large dogs under 60 kilograms were with small dogs and puppies, which is strictly prohibited by the rules for keeping animals, ”said animal rights activist Victoria Mylnikova, noting that some dogs were domestic, as they were wearing collars.
The activists stopped the car and freed the dogs. After that, Mylnikova approached the police officers who were watching what was happening so that they would draw up a protocol on cruelty to animals. According to the girl, instead, the security forces found two witnesses and detained her herself.
The police department drew up a report on Mylnikova under the article on petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The duty officer of the Central Police Department, in a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot", noted that in total "about five people" were detained, who have already been released pending trial. Under what articles protocols were drawn up for the rest of the detainees, it is not specified.
