The scandal due to the publication on Facebook , which was posted on his page by the director of the Russian theater in Tallinn, Philip Los, flared up at the end of August. In his post, he announced the “rotten shabby Russophobia”, which, in his opinion, struck Estonian society.

“Do you know why me, a Russian Jew, who has been living in Estonia of everything (already?) Five years, is so insulting and choosing all this endless fuss with sanctions against the Russians? When, under the vigorous health of the support of Ukrainian weapons and the victory of good over evil, the rotten shaky Russophobia suddenly climbed from all the cracks, and no one pinches his nose and does not say loudly: “Fu!” A good moment, isn't it? To diverge for everything, to trample all the freedoms and rights of citizens of the Russian Federation, as if we had little problems without that, ”wrote Philip.

Perhaps he would limit himself to the publication of his opinion, everything would have done. But in the appendage, the author attached a story about the Nazi concentration camp "Treblinka". The pathos of this reference lies in the fact that people with the advent of fascist Germany in Poland could not fully believe in the bloodthirsty plans of the Nazis, and when they realized what the matter was about, it was too late to resist. Having connected the problem of oppressing Russian citizens in Estonia and the plot of the Holocaust in one post, the moose created an explosive mixture. Perhaps without realizing it.

In Facebook, the reaction to the publication was more positive. Companions and just acquaintances thanked the moose for not afraid to speak about a real problem, and that many feel the same feelings. At the same time, some of the people noted that the director clearly exalted the stick with comparison, because the Estonian authorities did not take part in the extermination of the Jews, since the country was occupied at that time.

The response to the publication from the theater community followed lightning speed. Two days after the post, the reign of the Union of directors and playwrights of Estonia (ELDL) decided to exclude Philip from their ranks. They considered that the statement was insulting both the state of Estonia and the victims of the Second World War. According to the Chairman of the Board, Jaanus Rokhumaa, "Eldl supports freedom of speech and courage, but equally condemns inciting hatred and imperial arrogance at a time when one of the empires of previous times is thoughtfully destroying the lives of free people."

"It has nothing to do with success ..."

The next news was the dismissal of an elk. The director of the Russian theater C confirmed this information to the Novaya Gazeta. According to her, the theater actors unanimously expressed their attitude to the creative potential of the moose, believing that the harm that he causes the theater with his unrestrained and aggressive comments significantly exceeds the possible virtues from working with the director.

The letter on behalf of the actors was sent to the Union of Theater Workers.

“Not a single director of the director moose became a phenomenon even within the framework of our theater, his performances also did not have commercial success. In principle, the moose also had other tasks that he did not fully perform. Unfortunately, and now the moose is inaccurately stating the facts, ”the director of the theater complains.

According to her, the moose considers his merit an increase in the audience of the theater by half, but the data that is in the public domain on the page of the Ministry of Culture do not confirm this. “In connection with Covid, there was a significant decrease in both the audience and the theater's income. I came to the theater in early February. Over the past six months - from January to May - there really were more than 7115 people from the planned indicators, and our income from the sale of tickets amounted to 105246 euros without tax than planned in the budget. Unfortunately, this has no relation to Losey, ”our interlocutor quotes the numbers.

When asked whether it was possible to avoid dismissal, Svetlana answered in the affirmative, but this would only happen if the director understood the essence of the complaints to him: “He does not go to the dialogue in this matter, does not understand that when the artistic and vocabulary of the Russian theater, it is necessary to use at least civilized vocabulary even on his personal page, and always take into account the state institution, which you, no matter how positioned, are still.”

"It looks like a raider seizure ..."

The director does not agree with the words of the theater director. “It is unpleasant to listen to unflattering comments about my work from the current director Svetlana Yankek, who received a theater with a ready -made repertoire I formed for five years; A person who now joyfully reports on the successes and sales, as if this is her personal success, and not the result of the many years of work of the entire team of the Russian theater, ”says Philip Los.

“It seems to me that this is an elementary human dishonesty. When Svetlana came to the theater as a leader, I was glad of this, since before that, for several years of our completely friendly communication, I created the feeling that Svetlana was an energetic and useful person for the theater. But, perhaps, due to her personal totalitarian ambitions, she began to do everything from the beginning of her work to get rid of the artistic director of the theater and take power into her own hands, although the position of director for the charter of the theater does not imply interference in art policy. It is like a raider seizure, ”the director of the current leader accuses.

He is going to defend his interests legally in court, since he believes that the contract with him was terminated unlawfully. The theater figure shared his plans for the near future. He intends to stay and work in Estonia and in other European countries: now the moose is leaving for Bulgaria to finish work on the performance, the premiere of which is planned at the beginning of October.

Judicial prospects

The scandal caused a contradictory reaction of Estonian politicians. Their words are a characteristic example of a split in Estonian society. On the one hand, the deputy of the European Parliament of Urm Paat called for immediately depriving the disgraced artist of a residence permit. Another deputy of the European Parliament, Yana Toom, traditionally protecting the Russian -speaking minority, said that "in a country where a person can be excluded from the Union of Theater Workers for a post on Facebook in a matter of hours, less freedom than it was the day before."

Representatives of the Russian opposition reacted to the event. “I was shocked by the news about the dismissal of the artistic director of this theater, Philippe Lose. And for what? For opinion on Facebook! I am a lawyer and I understand that it is impossible to dismiss for an opinion. For violation of the law, labor discipline, when a person cannot cope with duties, it is possible, but for opinion - no. And are these European values? No. This is a pure USSR, ”the oppositionist Lyubol Sobol wrote an emotional post.

In a normal situation, the group is ready to calmly perceive a certain dose of dissent. But under stress, when the world is divided into “bad and good”, the reaction to the appearance in the group of a person who does not share general views leads to its exclusion. According to Zaitsev, the Estonians have a certain sensation of themselves, historical memory and a common position about what is happening in the world. When someone suddenly speaks out brightly, the majority replies: “That's it, you cannot be included in our group, you do not share our values, our common past.”

Zaitsev himself is now in Georgia and is sure that such situations are taking place in any country where there is a large Russian diaspora. “Here, in Georgia, there is a large community of people who support Ukraine, worry, angry with Russia and even those Russians who left their homeland. If they hear another opinion, then at best they will try to convince you, and at worst to see the enemy in you, ”the psychologist says.

Our interlocutor worked as part of a charitable project for helping to the emigrants "Ark" and came across every day with the Russians who were in psycho -emotional stress. “People suddenly ended up in another country, but do not know how to behave, how to speak out. They see that there are Ukrainian flags and inscriptions around everywhere: “Russians, go home!” This is a difficult situation, but in the conditions of war, unfortunately, not everyone react adequately and distinguishes half -tones. You need to be ready for this, ”said Andrei.

What to do in a situation where any expressed opinion can cause an unpredictable reaction from others? It is important to speak out, but you need to do this reasonably. The psychologist advises, first of all, to control emotions, not to show aggression and be prepared for the fact that your position will be perceived in vain. “There is a war, this is a given and not to hide from it. Keep in mind that now it’s not ready to accept someone else's opinion, even if it is justified, people are not ready, but they will be imposed with pleasure, ”the expert concluded.
