Lawyers for the arrested head of the Kurier trade union, Kirill Ukraintsev, complained about the investigator, who left only one day to get acquainted with six volumes of the criminal case. about this Writes "Kommersant".
A criminal case has been initiated against Ukraintsev for repeated violation of the procedure for organizing a rally (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code). The article assumes imprisonment from three to five years.
Lawyers for the head of the trade union said that since the beginning of September, the investigation has been ignoring the request of the defense and does not provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the prosecution. According to Veronica Polyakova, Ukraintsev's lawyer, the investigation usually gives the defense about a week to get acquainted with the materials, and in this case, there is actually only one working day left - Monday.
“I have never experienced anything like this. On Thursday, I sent a complaint to the Moscow prosecutor's office and to the direct management of our investigator, ”Polyakova said.
She clarified that investigator Dinara Mammadova applied to the Savelovsky court of the capital with a request to limit the time for familiarizing the defense with the case. She demanded that a period of one day be set for the study of the six volumes of the accusation, until September 9th. The court eventually set a deadline of September 20, however, according to lawyers, Mammadova stopped communicating, and they could not get the materials necessary for the defense.
“We call the investigative department, call the mobile phone, write in personal messages in instant messengers, we come to the investigative department. But the investigator does not answer, does not read the messages, and at the checkpoint control we are told that she is not there, ”shared Polyakova.
Ukraintsev's house was searched on April 25, then the activist was taken to the Investigative Committee. This happened against the backdrop of a strike by delivery service workers in Moscow.
In September 2021, the Koptevsky District Court of Moscow arrested Ukraintsev for 10 days. He was charged with organizing the rally (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for the administrative case was last year's post on Instagram about MSU graduate student Azat Miftakhov.
