The Altai Regional Court left the journalist of RusNews Maria Ponomarenko in a pre -trial detention center, despite the suicide attempt against the backdrop of a deterioration in a mental state. She opened her veins, her colleagues report .
Ponomarenko diagnosed a hysterical personality disorder, and she did not receive the necessary assistance in the pre -trial detention center, Rusnews notes. The journalist also suffers from claustrophobia, so two months spent in a room with sealed windows negatively affected her psyche.
“I consider the conditions of the detention behind the sealed windows torture. I can’t pose any danger to society.
The only person to whom I can cause damage in a state of hysteria and depression is I myself, ”said Ponomarenko in court (she was present at a meeting on the video).

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Barnaul on August 25 extended the maintenance of a journalist in a pre -trial detention center until September 29. At the same time, she spent a week from September 6 to September 13 in Kartsere for breaking the window in the cell. Now, as Rusnews writes, the pre -trial detention center decides the issue of re -sending Ponomarenko to a punishment cell for another violation.
Lawyer Dmitry Shitov asked Ponomarenko to transfer to house arrest, as the investigation of the criminal case went to another stage. The accused recognized the event of a crime, but does not agree with the qualification of the crime.
The defense believes that the content in the pre -trial detention center in the absence of medical care, with the actual completion of the investigation, is excessively repressive. The lawyer drew the attention of the court that the diagnosis of a journalist was officially established. The accusation believes that the defense did not provide documents confirming serious diseases that prevent Ponomarenko in the custody.
A journalist's friend testified in court that he was ready to provide her with an apartment to serve house arrest.
“The youngest daughter threw a music school, she studied already in the sixth grade. The eldest daughter, unfortunately, is also in a poor psycho -emotional state, constantly cries. Her letters reach me. She has not a very good relationship with her father. I am very worried about my eldest daughter, for her future. [...] Receiving such letters, it is difficult for me to maintain self -control here, this affects my state.
I consider it unreasonable to my isolation from my children, in general from society
[...] All I did was expressed her point of view, that is, I enjoyed its constitutional right, ”said Ponomarenko during the court session.
At the end of April, the court in St. Petersburg sent Ponomarenko in a pre-trial detention center in the case of the spread of “fakes” about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). A criminal case was opened due to the publication of March 17 in a telegram channel for 1.6 thousand people. Presumably, the reason for the case was posts in the telegram channel “There is no censorship”, which told about the people who took refuge in the theater in Mariupol. The mother of two minor daughters threatens from 5 to 10 years in a colony.
