VK asked war-supporting violinist Peter Lundstrem to delete a post about raising money for thermal imagers for the Russian army

Russian violinist Petr Lundstrem, who supports the war against Ukraine, posted a message from the VK support service asking him to remove his post about raising money for thermal imagers for the Russian military.

In the post, whose address is mentioned in the message, Lundstrem reported on sending donated thermal imagers, drones and walkie-talkies to the Russian military, and also published his bank details with the words “if you want our army to have more thermal imagers.”

The message that the musician, according to the screenshot, received from the VK administration says:

Please remove the post with details. We ask you to refrain from any private collections that are somehow related to military operations. You can only list official charitable accounts.

The message of the administration also mentions the address of the page of the Ukrainian musician who went out for a smoke . What this community has to do with Lundström's fundraising is unclear.

Lundstrem did not delete the post. He also started telegramming State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein and propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, asking what they "think about this."

VK did not officially confirm the request to remove Lundstrem's post and did not specify whether such requirements apply to all such posts. The social network's press service told Meduza that VK "actively supports the work of charitable organizations and recommends that users who want to help others on a variety of issues work with such trusted associations."

A source familiar with the rules of the VK community said that the social network has not allowed fees for which full reporting is not provided for many years. Similar requirements are mentioned in the rules for VK communities.
