On the air with journalist Yulia Latynina, Vladimir Osechkin said that a week ago he was shot from a rifle with a laser sight. This happened in the French city of Biarritz, in the house where Osechkin lives with his family. The human rights activist was not hurt.
“When the children and my wife arrived, we cooked dinner, and I remember that I bring plates to put for the children and with peripheral vision on one of the terraces I see a red dot moving towards me through the terrace railing,” the man said on the stream.
According to the human rights activist, immediately after that, the light turned off in the apartment. The children and wife spent about an hour in a secure room. Osechkin closed the blinds, called the appropriate services.
According to him, investigative journalist Khristo Grozev warned him about the impending assassination attempt. According to Grozev, the killer was "closely connected with the FSB and organized crime."
According to the human rights activist, the police have launched an investigation, neighbors have already been interviewed. They claim to have heard gunshots.
Vladimir Osechkin founded the human rights project Gulagu.net in 2011. In October 2021, Osechkin reported that he had at his disposal more than 40 GB of videos, documents and photos, indicating mass torture in colonies subordinate to the Federal Penitentiary Service.
