Jam Day was canceled in the Kursk region. They promise to send sweets to the military

The governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, canceled the Jam Day, which was planned for September 24 in the village of Krasnikovo. Instead, he decided to send the jam, honey and gingerbread prepared for the holiday to the military in Ukraine.

“Of course, it is impossible to curtail all cultural or sporting events, but we must have Victory in the foreground and we will use all our strength to achieve it. Glory to our defenders, together we will win!” the head of the region wrote in a telegram.

Starovoit also added that the Kursk region is constantly helping servicemen who are fighting in Ukraine. He noted that voluntary donations are collected in the region, which are used to purchase equipment, optical devices, quadrocopters, thermal imagers and surveillance devices.

Earlier, in some cities, holidays began to be canceled due to the war in Ukraine. So the council of deputies of the city of Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region, canceled the City Day “due to the difficult situation in the war zone,” and the mayor of Zelenogradsk postponed the City Day to next year.
